Quick answer: The best eSIM for Saudi Arabia is the cheapest plan that matches your trip length and data use. In the eSIMzee catalog, a 1-day plan starts at $1.30, a 5 GB week plan at $7.99, and a 10 GB two-week plan at $12.99. Install it before you fly, and check your provider's page for any registration step.
What is the best eSIM for Saudi Arabia?
There is no single best plan. The right one depends on how many days you stay and how much data you use.
Pick by trip length first, then by data. A short stopover needs a small daily plan. A week in Riyadh or Jeddah needs a 5 GB plan. Two weeks or more needs 10 GB or higher.

How does an eSIM work on your phone?
An eSIM is a SIM built into your phone as software. You do not insert a card. Your provider sends a small file, called a profile, that tells your phone which network to use.
Apple lists several ways to add an eSIM on iPhone: scan a QR code, tap a carrier link on iOS 17.4 or later, use the carrier's app, or enter the details by hand. On a Pixel, go to Settings, Network & internet, SIMs, then Add SIM, as Google's Pixel help explains.

Do you need to register an eSIM in Saudi Arabia?
For local operator eSIMs, there is an official digital route. The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced on 21 May 2025 that international pilgrims can get an eSIM from a licensed provider's app. The Ministry of Interior's Absher app verifies identity with biometrics, so pilgrims can connect on arrival without visiting a branch.
Zain KSA's Yaqoot service works similarly for visitors. Zain says tourists, Hajj and Umrah visitors can get a SIM or eSIM through its app and register it in Absher, without in-store fingerprinting.
These pages cover local operator lines. They do not say what applies to travel eSIMs sold by international providers. Read your provider's plan page before you fly.
Travel eSIM or a local visitor eSIM?
Choose a travel eSIM if you want one purchase, a price shown up front and setup before you leave home. Choose a local operator eSIM if you want a Saudi number and are happy to complete Absher verification.
Umrah and Hajj visitors can use either route. The CST announcement targets pilgrims, so a local eSIM is worth a look if you need a local line.
Can you keep your home number?
Yes, if your phone supports dual SIM. Pixel 3a and later phones can run one physical SIM and one eSIM, and Pixel 7 and later can run two eSIMs if the carrier allows it, per Google. Only one SIM can be the default for data, so set the travel eSIM as your data line and keep your home SIM for calls and codes.
Switch off data roaming on your home SIM to avoid surprise charges. Compare more options on the eSIMzee providers page.
How much data do you need in Saudi Arabia?
Maps, messaging and email use little. Video calls and streaming use a lot. Count your days, then use the data calculator to estimate your total.
If you run short, a plan with top-up lets you add data. In the table, Superalink and NextSIM list top-up as available.
